After the first couple of years of preparing for our move to Costa Rica, moving, building, and settling in, the posts tend toward daily life, plus coverage of the minor crises and triumphs along the way. Readers of A Dull Roar who are not in Costa Rica, and may be contemplating a move here or some other ex-pat destination might be looking for something a bit more relevant to their own cliff-jumping experience.

Frankly, due to selective (defensive) memory, I've forgotten a lot of the travails of starting this new phase in our life. I've naturally, but unintentionally, neglected those readers who are making those first steps toward their own ex-pat dreams. Except in old blog posts, there's not much reference on how we overcame, and even relished, the challenges as they came along.
Pura vida!

Casey, I love the collaboration in this post. Very interesting, and I can see why you guys love living there so much, - except for the snakes. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHi Nell, thanks for the comment. The snakes aren't so bad, really. We rarely see any and thank goodness they aren't *all* poisonous! :)
DeleteI've always wanted to live in a different country, perhaps for a few years, but I haven't got a clue on how to do it. I've been reading your blog for some months now, and it's helping me build my own plans and other considerations. Thanks, Casey! :)
ReplyDeleteHi Di,
DeleteGlad the blog is helping. Feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you have any questions.
